Lambert Place- Model Home
Hayden Homes is developing a new community in Stayton, OR and we had the pleasure of styling the model! It’s a new floorplan for SS&D, The Pacific, and we’ve got to say….it’s such a fresh, light & bright one-story layout!
It almost didn’t happen, either. With the number of fires around the state, especially in the Santiam Valley, Stayton was on a Level 1 evacuation notice. Nearby towns suffered major losses to the Santiam Fire, closing down highway 22 indefinitely until the damage has been dealt with. However, thanks to heavy rains the days prior to us leaving, the brave men and women fighting the fires were able to get it more contained! We couldn’t be happier to welcome the sheets of rain that were falling! *Cue the songs about rain playlist! If you want, we can provide the link to the playlist on Spotify.
We hand-selected all of the furniture and décor that went into this model home. We think it turned out to be a real cutie! Let us know what you think!
We have got quite a few model homes coming up in the not so distant future, so we’d love to hear your feedback. Scroll to the very bottom of this blog to read our funny and crazy memories from this trip to the valley. There is ALWAYS something!
Alright, you asked for it! Here are the funny stories:
So the trailer and the truck were absolutely PACKED with stuff. It was a struggle to fit our overnight bags!
Google maps kept trying to take us to Stayton through forest roads instead of the main highway! Luckily, we’re locals so we knew better. SO weird...
On the way, we were on a backroad almost to Scio when we went over the smallest hill only to head straight down this MASSIVE HILL! Karrie and I screamed and were giggling like little kids on a roller coaster. It was surreal!!
We dropped off some of the furniture and décor totes at the model home so we could make room for a Home Goods run. WE SCORED BIG TIME!
Went to dinner at a Japanese Steakhouse and they were only playing sleepy-slow 50’s ballads. It was hilarious at the time.
Arrive at the La Quinta Hotel by Costco in Salem (they did a great job updating their image and revamping everything!) and Mariah witnessed a woman being confronted by the front desk attendant, that she hit someone’s car and was caught on camera. It was a whole situation…she was not nice.
At this point it’s been a long day. We are slap happy in the hotel room and Karrie begins making shadow puppets with her phone flashlight and it’s the funniest thing I’ve ever seen. Couldn’t keep it together. Check our Instagram stories to see it. It’s actually probably not that funny to you! Had to be there…
It’s the morning now. We are heading to Stayton to begin the long process of building the furniture and dressing up the model!
First off, it takes forever to assemble all of the furniture for a model! And that’s with the assistance of movers, too. Very thankful for all the help they provided.
More towards the afternoon, the wind picked up and so did the rain! It was glorious. However, it was so windy we thought that the porta-potty on the street would fly away like these did. Pretty entertaining to say the least.
Why did we think we could complete this home in a day??? So silly. Back to Home Goods for a couple more items, dinner, then the hotel.
SCORED AGAIN AT HOME GOODS!! (This never happens to us)
Head to dinner, then back to the hotel where Karrie taught me how to play a card game called “Golf”. So fun! Karrie was VERY lucky though. I got mad and yelled “NO!” really loud when the neighbor in the adjoining room yelled at me to shut up. ~ Commence more laughter and jokes hehe…
It’s the morning. Having breakfast downstairs at the hotel. We are across the room from pilots that are spraying fire retardant on the fires! Thank you for your service!
Off to the model home! As we are exiting the highway, I yell at Karrie to, “Watch out!” Someone’s grandma was driving THE WRONG WAY down the off-ramp towards oncoming highway-goers! She turned around quickly before it was too late. Life is short, guys. Pay attention!
At the model home, Mariah immediately puts the legs on an accent chair backward. She then downed her Americano. Much better!
THEN Karrie drilled her shirt into the barstool she was assembling. Quite hilarious!
Fast forward to heading back to Bend! The house looked amazing!
We took Tombstone Pass and it was flexing HARD! Meaning, it was amazingly beautiful. Here are some pictures!
